Q: What is Remy Hair?
A: The highest quality extensions. Remy hair has the cuticle layer intact. The hair cuticle is the outermost part of the hair shaft. It is a hard shingle-like layer of overlapping cells and is formed from dead cells which form scales that gives the hair shaft strength and do the best job of providing protection for it.
All remy hair has the cuticle layer of the hair flowing in the same direction, flowing the way it would naturally. The cuticle layer is important in preventing tangling, in increasing the longevity of use and how well the hair shines.
Q: How Much Hair Should I Purchase?
A: If you are getting a full weave, on average, you’ll need 2 packs of hair. However, it is advised to purchase 3 packs. Hair over 18″ might require an additional pack as the hair stretches longer and tends to appear a little thinner at the top. For tracks and bonded styles, one pack is usually four to five tracks. If you are getting fusion or micro, please consult your stylist.
Q: What type of hair care products should I use?
A: Treat your weave as if it was your own hair. Use good quality shampoo and conditioning products. Conditioning your hair is the key to keeping it soft and manageable. Leave-in conditioners are good as well. You can also use gels and hair spray to keep the curls in place, just be sure to wash your hair and not leave these products in for long periods.
Recommended products: shampoos and conditioners for treatment, Pantene ProV and for every day use, Olive Oil Hair Polisher.
Q: Why are my hair extensions becoming tangled?
A: Your hair extensions can tangle due to dryness, oil & dirt build up, salt water, chlorine and not combing out (with a wide tooth comb) your hair daily. Be sure to wash and condition your hair at least once a week, twice is better. Use hydrating drops or consult your stylist for more tips.
Q: How Long Will My Hair Last?
A: It depends on how you maintain it. Take very good care of it and it can last up to a year.
